Bonito closed its Umalas location for good after dinner service on Thursday, August 6, 2026. Four days later, on August 10, it reopened on the open-air rooftop at KLEO Seminyak.

Why Bonito Left Umalas for a Seminyak Rooftop

Bonito spent four and a half years building its name in Umalas. The move isn’t a relaunch — it’s the same restaurant, relocated as one unit.

The new rooftop is open to the sky, looking out over the Seminyak coastline. Dinner now comes with a sunset built in.

Bonito is part of La Famiglia Restaurant Group, founded by Chef Maurizio Bombini, the same team behind MAURI and Zia Tina. Zia Tina is also based inside KLEO Seminyak — so Bonito now shares an address with its sister restaurant, on the same property.

A Track Record Worth Following to the New Address

Bonito isn’t starting from zero. It’s bringing its reputation with it.

Chef Maurizio Bombini grew up in Puglia before running kitchens across Europe, the US, and China, then opening MAURI in Bali in 2018, followed by Bonito in 2022. About 80% of the fish and seafood served is sustainably sourced from Bali, Lombok, Flores, and Timor.
